I nudge Patrick lightly. "I'm gonna go sit, okay, babe?" I ask quietly.

I nod to Courtney. "Okay." I turn back to the girls. "Oh, awesome! I'll look for you in the crowd."

I smile real big. "Can you sign this, please?" I ask, pulling a white t-shirt out of my backpack, and a sharpie.

I sit down at an empty table.

I tap Courtney on the shoulder. "So, how do you know Patrick?"

I grin even bigger. "Thank you thank you thank you!" I say. "You're like my hero..." I admit, running back to my table, hugging my shirt.

"Oh, Jesus, kid. I've known him since we were in diapers," I roll my eyes.

I stand there, smiling like an idiot. I didn't think I was anyone's hero.
